Hi, I'm Elyse Newland, an Occupational Therapist and Certified Stroke Rehab Specialist. After earning my Doctorate in Occupational Therapy in 2017 , I traveled the U.S. working as a therapist before settling in my hometown of Chattanooga, TN.

Everything changed when my grandmother had a stroke in 2019. While I'd worked as a therapist for a few years, this experience opened my eyes to the everyday struggles of stroke survivors and their families. It also showed me that many healthcare systems around the world are broken and that survivors often don't get the support they need to optimize their recovery after being discharged from the hospital.

For this reason and many others, I founded Post Stroke. We're on a mission to provide free, easy-to-understand, evidence-based, and high-quality stroke recovery education right on the social apps stroke survivors already use, like YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. I'm proud of how much we've accomplished and look forward to reaching more survivors around the globe!
